De vreselijke emotionele toestand waarin Todd aan het eind verkeert, is niet het gevolg van wat er om hem heen gebeurt, maar van de dingen die hij de mensen om hem heen heeft aangedaan. Als homoseksuele mannen zit er in ons allemaal wel een beetje van die hoofdpersoon, en dat kan best eng zijn om op het grote scherm onder ogen te zien.
